Understanding corporate finance

It's not unheard of for businesses to experience financial hardship. From bad trading seasons to issues with suppliers, any business can experience financial issues. Our role is to help you make it to the other side and get back on the road to growth.

If your business needs to quickly raise funds, Axtax is here to help. We can help you establish favourable rates with credit providers, using our extensive range of banking contacts, to help your business if it is facing short-term financial difficulties.

Comprehensive corporate recovery plans

Our team has decades of experience in helping companies in financial hardship. Depending on the severity of the financial situation, there are a number of options we can advise on to help with your recovery:
  • Company Voluntary Arrangement (CVA). Axtax can help you come to an agreement with creditors to improve your cash-flow and ensure they still get paid. Your CVA might involve payment holidays, spreading costs and other financial actions.
  • Administration. Applying for an administration order allows an external insolvency specialist to divide or sell business assets to cover any debts and help restructure the business moving forwards. We can advise on the viability of this option, as well as suitable insolvency specialists in the area.
  • Creditors’ Voluntary Liquidation (CVL). This is an option when an alternate solution cannot be agreed, and your business cannot pay outstanding debts. A successful CVL means the business will cease trading, but is no longer liable for the debts and minimises the impact on creditors, unless personal guarantees were made by the business' directors. Independent liquidators will support all sides and confirm the liquidation of the business and its assets.
